Molly Parker
I grew up in small-town Searcy, Arkansas. This town was a place where I had always called home. I loved being able to go anywhere and run into someone that I knew. Searcy made me into the person that I am today. During my sophomore year of high school, my world kind of started to change around me. Nothing was familiar and I was learning how to adjust to new circumstances. I had been a tennis player for a few years, and I loved that. But there was always a piece of me that longed to do something more. That’s where my journey with nooma began. I remember my friend telling me that I had to try out this hot yoga studio. This was completely out of my comfort zone, but I was down to try anything. I went to my first 5 am hot yoga class, and then I never left.
Nooma was a place where I could go and let out all of the stress that was going on in my life. I was accepted for who I was and always welcomed with open arms. There was not a day where I didn’t wake up at 5 am excited to start my day. Then I would go to school feeling like I could take on anything that the Lord put in my path. Nooma gave me a family unlike anything I could have ever imagined.
I continued throughout high school to wake up every morning and take classes. It was my passion and a place where I felt so much meaning in what I was doing. I wasn’t just working out, but I was connecting my mind and body. After graduating high school in 2019, I moved to Fayetteville and began classes at the University of Arkansas. I tried to get a gym membership while there because the Rogers studio was a 20 minute drive from campus, and I was super busy as any college student is. But this was not my passion, and I would feel so empty when leaving the gym unlike anything I ever felt when leaving nooma. So after Thanksgiving break, I returned to Nooma and would make the drive so willingly because after all, it was my safe place. At first it was hard to balance Greek Life, classes, and fitness, but after a few days I found my niche and never looked back.
Now, I am so excited to be leading others in classes. My prayer for the 2020 year was that the Lord would use me in any way that He needed me to. I believe wholeheartedly that this is part of the calling that the Lord gives us in the Great Commission. Sharing my passion, I hope to lead others in a way that honors God and the gifts that He has given me.
