Shauna Wood
I started doing yoga on videos very sporadically (as in three times and then quit for six months) many years ago. 10 years ago I finally made it in for a Bikram class and loved it! As a long distance runner, I did not have as much time for yoga but still tried to add it into my schedule with a few stretches at the end of my run.
When I was pregnant, running became painful for several weeks so I turned to yoga, mat pilates, and weights. After my daughter was born, I decided yoga was a better fit for my body and mind. I started practicing three times a week, then five, then every day. The strength and clarity were what I needed.
I completed 200 hour training in 2015, became registered 500 hour in 2017, and ERYT 200 and YACEP in 2018. I also began working on the pilates reformer and became certified to instruct in 2019. Adding movement into others has become a great joy for me. I like to construct sequences, break down the hard parts, add drills, and give homework (ha).
When I am not in the studio, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and two cats. I tend to stay pretty busy with Instagram challenges as well.
